Register to Fly

Clark country requires flyers using Bennett field to have a valid AMA membership.

The FAA requires flyers to register their model aircraft (drone) . The FAA also requires that Bennett field flyers register their FAA# and Last Name using the form below. In addition, the FAA requires that you complete the FAA TRUST Test prior to registering with them.

Links to acquire AMA membership, FAA Model Aircraft Registration, and a FAA Trust Test Card, are provided below the form.

AMA registration provides insurance and other benefits. Clark county requires AMA membership for ALL pilots who fly at Bennett field. Please note that you need a full AMA membership and not a Park Flyers membership to fly at Bennett field.

The FAA requires ALL pilots to register and place their assigned FAA number in a visible location on every model aircraft they fly. You may use the same FAA number on all your aircraft.

Bennett field is a FAA-Recognized Identification Area (FRIA) where model aircraft (drones) may be flown without Remote ID Equipment.

All those who fly any type of RC (not just drones) are now required to take this flight test. That includes Part 107 operators, etc. But don't fret, it's a simple, online test available through the AMA website. YOU CAN'T FAIL THIS TEST! Upon conclusion you will receive a print out card that you must have readily available for Law Enforcement or FAA inspection.

Welcome to The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST). This is the Federal Aviation Administration’s course for those who intend to operate Unmanned Aircraft Systems, commonly called “drones”, under the Exception for Limited Recreational Operations of Unmanned Aircraft ( 49 United States Code §44809). For the purpose of this course, the term “drone” includes a variety of aircraft such as remote controlled (RC) airplanes, RC helicopters, and quad-copters.

Because drones can be very simple to fly, it is easy to think that there is not much risk in flying one. The reality is, drones have collided with other aircraft, injured people, and caused property damage.

That is why safety is everyone’s responsibility. This course is designed to provide you with information that will help you fly safely and keep our nation’s airspace safe for everyone.

We are excited to have you join the world of aviation!

The Las Vegas Radio Control Club (LVRC) Flyers operates Bennett Field pursuant to AMA rules under the direction of Clark County Parks and Recreation and under that agreement the LVRC is authorized to provide direction and rule guidance regarding airfield activities and events. You are not required to be a member of the LVRC Flyers to fly at Bennett field but LVRC Flyers welcomes new members. However, Clark County requires that you have a valid AMA membership to fly at the field.

The LVRC also has an agreement with the FAA regarding the use of the Class B airspace the filed resides in. As part of that agreement, LVRC provides this registration page to comply with the FAA requirements and will on request by the FAA, provide the registrations to an FAA representative. The FAA requires that you have registered with them and have a valid FAA# to fly a model aircrft (drone).

Please reach out to the secretary@lvrc.club with any questions you may have about this registration page.
